Make sure to be careful when painting around windows. You do not want to have the paint gather and dry around the seams of the sash causing the window to get stuck. The same is true when painting around doors and door frames. Leave the door open to dry. If the doors are closed and paint touches it has a chance to dry together, get stuck, etc. In fact, with windows, doors, and cabinets, it might be a good idea to remove the doors and other hardware and lay them out and paint them and let the complete dry before reassembling them.
Paint Brush Tips

You want to be careful not to stroke the paint too much with the brush when using latex paint. On the other hand, with oil based paints, stroking the paint more can actually help improve the finish.
